A total of 4,801 square metres of space has been leased to Schulz & Sohn and The Padel Company. SEGRO had already signed contracts with various companies for the site in recent months. The two current deals are the largest to date in terms of space.

The internationally active family business Schulz & Sohn has opted for 2,401 square metres. It develops and produces tailor-made, innovative and sustainable cleaning concepts and supplies customers worldwide. Schulz & Sohn's headquarters are located about 500 metres from the space the company has leased at SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern. This convenient location was a key factor in the decision. The company plans to use an environmentally friendly electric truck to handle deliveries between its headquarters and the logistics space.

The Padel Company from Berlin, which operates under the name mitt, is moving into 2,400 square metres of space at SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern. The company aims to become the leading provider of padel tennis in Europe – one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide. Since commencing operations in February this year, The Padel Company has already opened three clubs in Germany with a total of 30 courts. This makes it one of the largest and fastest-growing providers of this sport in Germany. The lease to The Padel Company will help to attract a wider audience to the site, thereby further strengthening public awareness. On the other hand, it will also create an additional offering for customers at SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern, allowing them to spend their breaks and time before and after work being active. The company has attracted prominent investors. Most recently, Felix Lobrecht, Jürgen Klopp's son Marc and Hyrox founder Moritz Fürste, among others, have invested in the company.

The two newly leased spaces are located in the first construction phase of SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern. Upon completion, this will comprise three properties with a total of 22,400 square metres of warehouse space. The entire SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern will have more than 44,000 square metres of storage space, including the associated office and service areas. The flexible space sizes of approximately 400 to 9,500 square metres are suitable for companies from a wide range of industries and with a variety of concepts. SEGRO had begun construction in 2024 on a speculative basis, i.e. without pre-letting, due to the excellent location conditions. Completion of the first phase is scheduled for autumn 2025. The company acquired the 19-hectare site in 2022 from various subsidiaries of thyssenkrupp AG.

In addition to an attractive location in close proximity to Düsseldorf city centre and the A46 motorway, modern facilities and an architecturally appealing façade design, SEGRO is focusing comprehensively on ecological and social sustainability in the development of the site. This is in line with the company's commitment to low-carbon growth and investment in local communities. All buildings will comply with the BEG40 energy standard, and office roofs and building facades will be greened. PV systems with a capacity of 1.6 MW peak (in construction phase 1) will be installed on the hall roofs. In addition, over 50 car parking spaces with e-charging stations and charging points for e-bikes are planned. In view of these very high standards, SEGRO is aiming for DGNB Platinum sustainability certification for the buildings in the first construction phase.

Tim Rosenbohm, Director of Light Industrial at SEGRO Germany, says:

"The two recent new leases prove once again that we offer companies from a wide range of industries solutions that meet their specific requirements. This also applies to the size of the spaces: our previous leases at SEGRO Park Flingern range from just under 500 to around 2,400 square metres. Thanks to our flexible concepts, we are able to meet such diverse needs. In this way, we enable optimal growth conditions for our customers and contribute to a prosperous economy in the respective communities and beyond."

Schulz & Sohn was brokered by Logivest, The Pedal Company by Cubion.
