13,700 square meters in the SEGRO Park Frankfurt City for the new REWE Food Fulfillment Center
SEGRO has completed a 13,700 square meter expansion area in SEGRO Park Frankfurt City, which now covers 28,100 square meters
REWE Lieferservice has now opened a Food Fulfillment Center (FFC) in the new area. REWE is using the new delivery service warehouse in Frankfurt to provide more households in the Rhine-Main region with an expanded range of food delivery services. In the FFC, innovative picking techniques are used for the first time, which have been integrated into the existing system landscape of the delivery service.
"With its urban location, our business park is excellent for supplying the last mile and is therefore suitable for an online food retailer like REWE Digital," says Janina Kaya, Associate Director Development Light Industrial at SEGRO.
SEGRO Park Frankfurt City is being developed by SEGRO on a 14.5 hectare site. Right next to the area is a 2.5-hectare meadow landscape, which SEGRO renatured in 2019 and handed over to the city of Frankfurt am Main. Bird nest boxes and insect hotels were also installed as a contribution to nature.
With its modern design and construction according to DGNB Gold certification, the business park is integrated into the inner-city area at Graugrafenstraße 24 in Frankfurt-Rödelheim. Several bus and S-Bahn lines also offer good connections. The A 5 and A 66 motorways can be reached in a short time via the A 648 via the Frankfurt-Rödelheim junction.
