SEW-EURODRIVE, a family-owned manufacturer of drive technology, has been renting 550 square meters in the park since 2014.

"With this letting, we can not only enable an existing tenant to grow on site, but also celebrate the full occupancy of the entire park, apart from almost 100 square meters of office space. However, interested companies can already secure units in our next phase, which is currently under construction," says Christina Schultz, Associate Director Development Light Industrial at SEGRO.

SEGRO is currently expanding the area of the site by two more urban logistics buildings with 18,500 square meters of commercial space. After completion of this expansion, the commercial part of the SEGRO Park Berlin Airport will cover a total of approx. 82,000 square meters. In addition, the SEGRO Park Berlin Airport has a logistics section whose 72,500 square meters of rental space have been fully let for a long time. Accordingly, the total area of the SEGRO Park Berlin Airport after the current expansion will be 154,500 square meters. The expansion of the area is far from over, and planning for the next construction phase has already begun.

At the end of 2021, SEGRO also acquired a 63-hectare plot of land from the Berlin Brandenburg airport company to expand the SEGRO Airport Park Berlin. Of this, 32 hectares are intended for green and compensation areas and 31 hectares for new commercial areas. Additional light industrial and urban logistics buildings are planned. The areas are to be used to expand the existing SEGRO Park Berlin Airport by a further 140,000 square meters of commercial space, so that the entire area together with the existing areas of SEGRO will cover almost 300,000 square meters.

The SEGRO Park Berlin Airport currently has around 70 tenants from a wide mix of sectors, from medical technology to yacht and aircraft construction, transport and logistics companies to classic trades.

All areas of the site have the DGNB Gold sustainability certificate. SEGRO focuses on sustainability in many ways. For example, wooden trusses are used instead of concrete beams, the roofs are greened and a sustainable greening concept is implemented. In addition, energy-saving LED lighting will be installed and e-charging stations will be installed for each rental unit.

The SEGRO Park Berlin Airport is part of the Business Park Berlin, which is being developed in cooperation with the Treptow-Köpenick district into one of the largest contiguous business parks in Berlin. With its location directly on the federal highway 96a and connections to the A 113 and A117 motorways as well as an S-Bahn connection within walking distance, it has excellent transport connections. Berlin Brandenburg Airport can be reached in a few minutes by car.
