Located in the heart of the former Pas-de-Calais mining basin, 30 km from Lille and 16 km from Lens, this new project is part of an exceptionally large site that Delta 3 has been developing since 2003, extending over 450 hectares with, at its centre, a combined transport terminal and 4 logistics zones which will eventually offer 760,000 m² of latest-generation warehouses. The site also hosts a range of additional services: training center, HGV secure parking, HGV maintenance workshop, service stations, catering, etc.

The SEGRO Logistics Park Dourges benefits from an ideal geographical location allowing it to be fully dedicated to multimodal transport:

  • Motorway with an interchange dedicated to the site via the A1/E17.
  • River because it is directly connected to the Haute Deûle canal which provides the Dunkirk/Valenciennes link.
  • Rail thanks to two connections, the main one on the Lens-Ostricourt line.

Built in two phases on a 7.4 hectare site and designed by Avantpropos Architectes, the project developed by SEGRO provides for two buildings facing each other and organized on either side of the railway line. Today, GEODIS takes possession of the first building of 10,000 m², the construction of the second building of an equivalent area is planned for 2021.

A 35,000 m² multimodal site operated by GEODIS

The first building, built to measure, is occupied by GEODIS over a total area of 10,000 m² and includes 21 dock doors, a hall 385 m long and 27 m wide allowing the simultaneous loading of the equivalent of half a -train (16 wagons). In total, the site operated by GEODIS represents an area of 35,000 m². The two trains operated daily offer a loading capacity equivalent to 100 full trucks on the road, for a reduction of up to 75% in greenhouse gas emissions.

Every night, the GEODIS Road Transport teams load a train of 31 wagons bound for the Avignon hub, for customers in particular in the retail sector. This platform replaces the former Compiègne site (60) and strengthens GEODIS's operational capacities on this strategic axis: "By moving our hub 120 km to the north, we are setting up in the heart of the area where the most of our customers. This makes it possible to increase the number of journeys made by rail”, indicates Olivier Alliès, Multimodal Director of the Road Transport activity of GEODIS.

Phase 1 - GEODIS
Land: 35,000 m²
Building area: 10,000 m² (including 300 m² of offices & social premises)
Hall length: 385 m
Hall width: 27 m
Number of dock doors: 21
Number of level doors on the iron junction side: 16

“Delta 3 is delighted with the completion of this project, which began in 2012 and which aims to accommodate cross-docking and/or courier activities in 2 buildings with iron connections of approximately 10,000 m² each.
This program aims to supplement the existing offer in storage activities with a transit offer, splitting of products transported by rail, or stuffing/unstuffing of containers, and consolidation of multi-customer flows, in particular for the distribution in the heart of the agglomeration. The emergence of new activity offers should make it possible to reinforce the role of hub constituted by the site and to facilitate the pooling of flows and the mixing of trains. », adds Emmanuel Favreuille, Managing Director of DELTA 3.

“The strategic location and infrastructures of the Delta 3 multimodal platform fit perfectly into our development strategy in terms of urban distribution. We are pleased to have developed the SEGRO Logistics Park Dourges in partnership with Delta 3 in order to support our customers in their multimodal strategy and to welcome GEODIS there today.
This new achievement allows SEGRO to complete its range of real estate solutions and thus confirms its ability to offer solutions adapted to each stage of the supply chain, from XXL logistics to formats intended for urban distribution and last-mile logistics. concludes Laurence Giard, Managing Director of SEGRO France.
