The Existing Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ)

Slough Trading Estate is home to over 350 businesses employing over 15,000 people, including international brands and smaller specialised enterprises. It is also a priority area for regeneration and investment by SEGRO and Slough Borough Council and continues to ensure local residents have access to a wide range of job opportunities

There has been an SPZ on the Trading Estate since 1995, and it has played a critical role in helping Slough to attract and retain business investment in the town, and SEGRO to deliver world class industrial premises in a high-quality environment.

The proposed New SPZ Scheme will run for 10 years, from November 2024 to November 2034 and will incorporate a number of changes compared with the current SPZ which are summarised in this section.
