Jobs & Economic Impact
The shift from a vacant warehouse to a modern data centre will:
- Create higher value jobs, long after the construction phase ends
- Add £109 million to the local economy per year during the construction phase of the project, through a combination of more business activity and increased demand for services
- Add up to £52 million per year to the local economy once the data centre is up and running
- Generate £104 million per year in local wages during the construction period, and a further £26.6 million per year once the data centre is operational
- Produce £2.3 million per year in business rates, which helps to fund public services locally
