Premier Park Data Centre
About Premier Park Data Centre
As part of a new joint venture, SEGRO and Pure DC are bringing forward plans for a state-of-the-art data centre at Park Royal, delivering critical national infrastructure, powering the digital economy, and driving growth in West London. This investment will create jobs, support local communities, and boost the region’s tech leadership.
A data centre is a highly secure facility that houses powerful computers and networking equipment, used to store, process, and manage vast amounts of digital information. Every time you stream a video, shop online, use a mobile app, or access cloud services, data centres are working in the background to make it happen. While they operate quietly and with minimal traffic, data centres play a vital role in powering modern life, supporting local economies, and attracting investment in technology and innovation.
Today’s data centres are indispensable to the digital economy, enabling cloud services, AI workloads, online banking, streaming, public services, and more. In 2024, the UK Government designated data centres as Critical National Infrastructure, highlighting their essential role alongside utilities and emergency services. This designation is accompanied by national planning policy requiring local authorities to identify and support data centre capacity.
Government support for the sector is strong. The Secretary of State Peter Kyle MP said the SEGRO/Pure DC collaboration will help ensure “the UK has the digital infrastructure it needs to thrive”.
SEGRO is a UK Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), listed on the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Paris, and is a leading owner, manager and developer of modern warehouses and industrial property. Its Responsible SEGRO framework focuses on three long-term priorities where the company believes it can make the greatest impact: Championing Low-Carbon Growth, Investing in Local Communities and Environments and Nurturing Talent.
