SEGRO celebrates three years of the IMPACT Charter: more than 4,000 people have benefited from support thanks to a regional commitment to employment, economic development and the local environment
Launched in 2022 at SEGRO Parc des Petits Carreaux in Bonneuil-sur-Marne (94), the IMPACT Charter, initially a local project, has already produced concrete and lasting effects, with nearly 3,500 young people and 700 job seekers receiving support
Building on its success, it was gradually rolled out across the entire Île-de-France region in 2023, then in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in 2024, bringing together customers, suppliers, local authorities and associations around social, economic and environmental initiatives. This approach is part of SEGRO's strategy, which places social and environmental responsibility at the heart of the company's development.
Since 2022, the IMPACT Charter has demonstrated its effectiveness through tangible and measurable results, highlighting the concrete impact of the scheme and emphasising its regional dimension.
In Île-de-France, more than 1,900 young people have already been supported, 570 job seekers have been assisted and 2,155 plantings (trees, shrubs, flowers and aromatic plants) have been carried out. With the actions carried out in the AURA and PACA regions, the impact is even greater, with 3,400 young people supported, 670 job seekers assisted – 345 of whom have found a mentor, an internship or a job – and 2,250 plants planted.
The IMPACT Charter collective continues its efforts with 500 hours of volunteering in Île-de-France and 600 hours across all territories covered by the IMPACT Charter. In terms of partnerships, 14 public authorities are engaged in the Île-de-France region, compared with 18 at national level, with 41 customers and 25 suppliers engaged locally, and up to 44 customers and 33 suppliers across all regions covered by the IMPACT Charter.
These results demonstrate a measurable and lasting impact. They illustrate both the strategic importance of the Île-de-France region, where SEGRO owns 75% of its property portfolio in France, and the influence of the scheme, which supports young people, employment, the environment and sustainable regional development.
Laurence Giard, Managing Director of SEGRO France, says:
"The IMPACT Charter illustrates our desire to go beyond our role as a property company and become a real catalyst for collective initiatives. Over the past three years, we have demonstrated that together with our customers, suppliers, local authorities and associations, we can generate a tangible and lasting impact. This anniversary marks an important milestone, and we want to continue and amplify this momentum so that every SEGRO site in France contributes to the economic and social vitality of the regions where we operate."
UPS Supply Chain Solutions, which has been operating at SEGRO Logistics Park Saint-Witz (95) for nearly 25 years, is a signatory to the IMPACT Charter launched by SEGRO to strengthen its local impact and promote professional integration. ‘Our ambition is to anchor our impact over the long term’, emphasises Marie Prevost, Director of Global Logistics & Distribution Operations. Starting in 2024, the company has launched concrete actions: visits with GRETA Paris, welcoming interns with the aim of hosting a full class, creating long-term sustainable jobs, workshops on biodiversity around the hives installed on the park, and collective projects with other players in the park. ‘These actions carried out under the Charter have a real social impact and also meet our recruitment needs. For our employees, it is rewarding and meaningful. We have experienced employees who are happy to pass on their expertise,’ she explains.
Based for over 30 years at SEGRO Parc des Petits Carreaux (94), Micromania is also committed alongside SEGRO to the IMPACT Charter to promote employment and inclusion. ‘For us, it all starts with a meeting’ emphasises Olivier Grandclaude, Logistics Director. Thanks to this initiative, the company has developed partnerships with local authorities, associations and ESATs (organisations that help people with disabilities find work), promoting local recruitment, the integration of people with disabilities and participation in job fairs. These initiatives strengthen local ties and mobilise teams, with SEGRO acting as a catalyst to amplify these collective dynamics.
With the IMPACT Charter, SEGRO is confirming its pioneering position in its sector. Much more than just a CSR initiative, it offers a structured approach designed to be a real lever for collective action.
By bringing together customers, suppliers, local authorities and associations, SEGRO acts as a facilitator. Training, local employment, inclusion, biodiversity and improving the local environment are all issues addressed by concrete initiatives.
This strategic choice illustrates the company’s desire to firmly anchor itself in a dynamic where economic performance and positive impact go hand in hand. This anniversary therefore marks a key milestone for SEGRO, a committed and responsible company.
