The company mainly offers products in the areas of living, garden and sport & leisure. It wants to use the new area as a logistics center. The now completed areas are the first phase that SEGRO is developing for its new tenant as a built-to-suit. Around 5,000 square meters of this is office and social space. The construction of the second phase with 36,000 square meters has also recently started and will be completed in spring 2022. Accordingly, the total rental area will be 86,000 square meters.

The areas offer space for 150,000 pallets and around 600 parking spaces were created, which can be reached via a sky bridge. The building has been awarded the DGNB Gold sustainability certificate and also offers a fitness and yoga area as well as a roof terrace for employees. The construction company Goldbeck was responsible for the construction measures as general contractor. In addition, SEGRO was supported in project management by the engineering office for construction management dörpinghaus & divisek.

“With these new spaces, we can continue our Europe-wide expansion while remaining true to our home region. The high-quality equipment of the areas is particularly important to us, with which we can offer our employees an optimal working environment," says Martin Menz, founder and managing director of Relaxdays.

"We are proud to be able to hand over the areas to our customer on time, despite the uncertainties of the pandemic. A special thank you goes to everyone involved in the project,” says Christopher Gigl, Associate Director Development Logistics at SEGRO.

With these areas, the SEGRO Logistics Park Leipzig Airport will have a total rental area of 190,500 square meters. In addition to the currently announced expansion, the fully rented area also offers expansion space for a further 19,000 square meters.

The SEGRO Logistics Park Leipzig Airport is located in Eichenallee in Kabelsketal and is characterized by its direct proximity to Leipzig/Halle Airport. Located directly on the B 6, there is also an excellent connection via the A 9 and A 14 motorways in the direction of Dresden, Halle and Kassel.
