Berlin: SEGRO leases almost 9,700 square meters to Deutsche Post DHL
SEGRO is building a regional last mile depot for letter and parcel delivery as a built-to-suit for Deutsche Post DHL at SEGRO Airport Park Berlin. The building permit has been granted and construction work has already started.
The location on the approx. 9,700 square meter sub-plot is to be handed over to the tenant in mid-2021.
"Since we have been working successfully with Deutsche Post DHL at various locations for many years, we know exactly what special requirements are placed on the areas," says Christina Schultz, Associate Director, Development, Light Industrial at SEGRO. Deutsche Post DHL is already renting space from SEGRO in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin.
SEGRO recently announced the expansion of the park by around 33,000 square meters, which will be built speculatively. The first 15,000 square meters of this are already under construction. These areas will be ready for occupancy from October 2021. The focus is therefore still on expanding the area in the SEGRO Airport Park Berlin in order to meet the strong demand.
The SEGRO Airport Park Berlin is located directly on the B 96a in the immediate vicinity of the new capital city airport and offers an optimal connection to the motorway network via the A 113 and A 117.
