SEGRO, investor and developer of logistics and industrial real estate, continues to build SEGRO Logistics Center Schiphol in Hoofddorp. The new warehouse of more than 17,000 m² in total is located in a high-profile location directly on the A4 at Schiphol Trade Park and is being realized by Aan de Stegge Twello. SEGRO expects the logistics center to be completed in Q2 2020.

With the acquisition of SEGRO Logistics Center Schiphol, SEGRO is further expanding its future-proof portfolio. The logistics center fits in well with the demands from the market, such as a very central location with an optimal infrastructure. Much attention is paid to current issues in society, which are given the right attention by deploying a sustainable total concept for both the building itself and the environment, and by paying attention to the well-being of the staff.

Attention to sustainability of real estate and the environment

SEGRO and Aan de Stegge Twello are aiming for BREEAM Excellent status for this new project. This is not an end goal, but the basis from which the sustainable use of the building is further optimized. Consider, for example, increasingly better monitoring of the processes in and around the building, such as the consumption of energy and use of materials (including loading doors). The energy consumption is gasless and economical, heat and cold storage is used and a sustainable lighting plan has been used, using as much daylight and LED light as possible. The logistics center is being built at Schiphol Trade Park, a SADC development. The park has the ambition to be the most sustainable and innovative business park in Europe and the design of this building fits in well with this.

Successful cooperation

In six months, Aan de Stegge Twello and her construction team developed the building for owner SEGRO, including permits and engineering up to the start of construction. The 20-metre-high distribution center is now rising at a rapid pace along the A4. Of the 17,000 m² in total, approximately 9,300 m² has now been let to an international logistics company. This unit is cooled, equipped with a heat-cold storage and meets the TAPA-A certification. The adjacent logistics space of 7,850 m² is still available for a second user.

Eelco Ouwerkerk, Head of SEGRO Netherlands: "This new development illustrates our vision of investing in future-proof buildings. Sustainable buildings in the best locations are the building blocks and DNA of SEGRO. With that solid foundation we work on a valuable portfolio that will last for a long time. meets the needs of our customers and developments in society, while all our buildings are flexible and adaptable for the long term.”

Evert Veerman, Aan de Stegge Twello: “An ideal place for the user with a logistics function in combination with offices. The development at Schiphol Trade Park is progressing well. Another clear example of 'real estate for the future'.”

SEGRO is advised by 1530 Real Estate when renting out the space still available.
