The warehouse, which is located on Montrose Avenue in Slough, is used to store donated food before being sorted and transported to our food distribution centres in Slough, Langley, Wexham and Cippenham. It is also where the public are encouraged to drop-off any non-perishable food they wish to donate.

During 2018, Slough Foodbank provided local residents in crisis with more than 4,000 three-day food packages, supporting 1350 children and over 2650 adults experiencing food poverty.

Paul Lewis, Regional Director, Thames Valley and Data Centres, SEGRO said:

“Here at the Trading Estate we are aware of the positive impact business can have in supporting the local community. Slough Foodbank makes a huge difference to those experiencing difficult times which is why it was important to us to continue supporting their great work by extending their lease at no cost.”

Sue Sibany-King, Manager, Slough Food Bank said:

“A foodbank warehouse is not only used to store donated items but also to type and date sort them. The in/out flow is unpredictable, governed by both generosity and need. Our volunteers need a place to work to ensure that sufficient food and other basics are available at each of our four distribution centres. We are therefore grateful to SEGRO for providing us with this facility free of charge. It really does enable Slough Foodbank to help those in need in the Slough community.

“We rely on donations from the public - anybody wishing to donate food is welcome to visit us on Mondays between 1-3pm, or Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am – 12pm, where they will be welcomed with a warm smile.”

Slough Trading Estate is Europe’s largest trading estate in single ownership and is home to many of the world’s most successful companies including Mars, Equinix, Ferrari and DHL.
