Privacy and cookies

SEGRO, an internationally operating investor and developer of logistics and industrial real estate, signed a long-term lease agreement with Kite, a Gilead company, that is engaged in the development of novel cancer immunotherapy products. Since March 1st, Kite has taken over 10,000 square meters at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport (SPAA).

For Kite, it is of great importance that their new facility complies with the highest standards. The property is set up in a very sustainable design and allows for a multifunctional use. For example, the building has been equipped with the latest solar panel technologies and a thermal energy storage system which stores heat or cold in the ground, so it will be possible to heat or cool the warehouse when needed. As a result, SEGRO complies with the BREEAM Excellent standard.

The proximity to Schiphol Airport and the Amsterdam metropole has been an important criterion to choose for SPAA as well. The optimum infrastructure, with direct connections to the A4/A5 motorways, rail and public transport make this location a prime logistics hotspot.

Growth in the future

Also, SPAA will offer Kite the opportunity to facilitate their future growth plans. At this moment, SEGRO is building the second phase, which is expected to be finalized by the end of 2018 and will consist of a variety of light industrial units. Later this year, SEGRO will also start the construction of another 10,000 square meters logistics unit at SPAA. The total scheme will comprise a total of over 100,000 square meters of logistics and industrial space. The fact that the building is newly built, highly sustainable and flexible in use are important aspects to Kite, seeing that they can fully adjust where necessary to meet their operations demands and needs.
