SEGRO plc ('SEGRO'), has today announced that it has signed up City Harvest to its Acton Park Estate in Park Royal. City Harvest is a charity that collects surplus food from all sectors of the food industry and delivers it to organisations that provide meals to vulnerable people.

City Harvest will occupy a 2,900 sq ft unit for five years and will use the unit to store and distribute free of charge surplus food to community food programmes that feed the homeless, individuals and families in transition, women in crises, refugees, veterans, children and the elderly. As part of the leasing, SEGRO has donated £9,000 to the charity.

Alan Holland, SEGRO’s Business Unit Director for Greater London, said:

“We are pleased to welcome City Harvest to Acton Park Estate. It is a great charity and we hope this new unit will help it to grow and continue with its important work. We place great importance on local communities through supporting charities and projects. This can be seen though our London Community Fund which we launched in 2015 to support grass root community projects across the capital.”

Laura Winningham, City Harvest Chief Executive, said:

“We were looking for a strategically located site, with good links to the motorways and access across London, to enable us to collect surplus food and deliver it quickly and efficiently to the charities we serve. SEGRO has also made a generous cash donation, for which we are incredible grateful and we hope to build on our relationship with them.”

Acton Park Estate is located approximately one mile from the M4 and the A40. It is secure, well-managed and offers flexible property solutions to meet occupier’s business needs.
