Data centres are the engines that drive the digital economy, supporting everything from online shopping and cloud computing to financial transactions, healthcare management, national security and emergency response systems. In modern life, we could simply not function without them.

We recently welcomed a ministerial delegation to the Trading  Estate to learn more about Europe’s largest cluster of data centres and our community of over 400 businesses. Our visitors were able to see some of the data centres as well as some of the amenities and other businesses on the estate.

Feryal Clark MP, Under Secretary of State for AI and Digital Government, said: “I am blown away by what I’ve seen today on Slough Trading Estate. This is the largest and most important data centre cluster in Slough and a great British success story. It is the foundation that will enable AI innovation that will improve lives and grow the economy in the UK.”

Anna Bond, Head of Western Corridor, SEGRO, added: “We are proud to have supported the sector’s growth in Slough for over 20 years, and it is now firmly on the map as a global powerhouse.”

Tan Dhesi, MP for Slough, added: “Slough Trading Estate has been a hub for industrial activity for over 100 years and has constantly evolved to provide a wide range of employment and support our economy. The strength of the estate lies in the diversity of its businesses and the hard work of local people.”
