The new facility, located at SEGRO Logistics Park Vitrolles in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, in partnership with GEMFI (GICRAM Groupe), is entirely dedicated to the storage and distribution of fresh and frozen food products.

Ideally located 15 km from Marseille, close to Marseille-Provence airport and the A7 motorway, the development benefits from excellent transport links. The building includes two negative-temperature units (-25°C), a controlled-temperature storage area (1 to 3°C), around 3,000 sq m of modern office space, as well as indoor and outdoor rest areas designed for the comfort and well-being of employees.

Designed with sustainable performance in mind, this building is a concrete illustration of the SEGRO Group's commitment to CSR and its commitment to champion low-carbon growth. It is certified BREEAM “Excellent” and has a roof fully equipped with photovoltaic panels, capable of producing around 1.4 MWh of green electricity per year – the equivalent of the annual consumption of 280 typical French households –, helping the occupier reduce carbon emissions and energy costs.

The environmental performance of this project is also fully in line with the Pomona Group's own CSR policy, which aims to support its customers with safe, eco-responsible services, notably by reducing pollution and the carbon impact of its activities.

In addition to its technical and environmental performance, this project represents a real lever for the attractiveness of the region. The new site will employ 290 people, a third of them in administrative functions, thereby contributing to the local economic fabric.

Laurence Giard, Managing Director of SEGRO France, comments:

"The delivery of this new logistics building is a perfect illustration of our ambition to develop and manage sustainable, high-performance platforms that serve our customers and local communities. This latest-generation building, dedicated to the storage of fresh and frozen products, meets the highest standards in terms of energy performance, employee comfort and environmental responsibility. Together with the Pomona Group and our partner GEMFI (GICRAM Group), we are particularly proud to be contributing to the development of an innovative logistics ecosystem that is committed to the energy transition. This project embodies our desire to build a logistics system that is resolutely focused on the future and represents a concrete step on our path towards carbon neutrality."

Luc Taupin, Regional Director of PassionFroid PACA, adds:

"The move of our PassionFroid PACA branch to a brand-new state-of-the-art building opens a new page for our branch. First and foremost, we're increasing our surface area and storage capacity so that we can continue to expand our product ranges, to better meet the expectations of our restaurant customers. The move will also contribute to the well-being of our staff, who will be moving into a modern, more practical building close to our current warehouse in October."

Laurent Horbette, Managing Director of GEMFI (GICRAM Groupe), comments:

"We are delighted with this new stage in our partnership with SEGRO in Vitrolles. The success of this project, the design and construction of which was carried out under a public-private partnership, reflects both the need to speed up the conversion of brownfield sites, which is a key factor in meeting the major challenges of the ecological transition, and the attractiveness and economic dynamism of the Marseille metropolitan area. This deal reinforces our Group's status as a key player in industrial redevelopment, which it has been doing for many years in this region and throughout France."
