HL Display has been renting warehouse space in SEGRO Business Park Gliwice since 2010. The Swedish company provides solutions to improve the quality of purchases to more than 70 countries, employing more than 1,000 employees worldwide. The company also has many years of experience in achieving goals under the sustainable development strategy. HL Display has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2010, and in 2020 it became one of the signatories of the Science Based Targets initiative, which aims to promote the setting of carbon footprint reduction targets based on scientific knowledge. Therefore, the proposal for an ecological modernization of the area of 10,000 m2 occupied by the company in Gliwice, one of the goals of which will be to minimize carbon dioxide emissions, perfectly matched the company's goals.

- During almost 12 years of operation in the SEGRO park, we have managed to implement many business projects and successively expand the company's operations in the CEE region. We appreciate the benefits of continuing our joint venture with SEGRO, especially in terms of a convergent strategy aimed at achieving climate neutrality. On the occasion of extending the lease agreement in Gliwice, we really like the proposal to modernize the space, which will make it more ecological - says Magdalena Oczko, Factory Manager at HL Display.

As part of the changes, numerous innovations are planned, including replacement of standard lighting with energy-saving LED. In addition, the lighting will be controlled by the intelligent DALI system, which, thanks to motion and daylight sensors, will be able to reduce artificial lighting on sunny days or when there is no traffic in a given part of the warehouse. A media monitoring system based on cloud solutions will also be implemented, enabling real-time control of energy or gas consumption. What's more, as part of the modernization, the installation of photovoltaic panels is also planned, and in addition, energy will be stored in solar collectors and later used to heat water for general use. As part of the ecological adaptation, the building will also include electric vehicle chargers and bicycle stands. Additional plantings are planned around the facility, and in its vicinity there will be another apiary for bees, as well as houses for insects.

- Our facilities are designed from the very beginning so that they can serve our customers for a long time and that they can be modernized with the times. By rearranging the building occupied by HL Display, we extend its life, and at the same time optimize the costs of its current operation. What's more, we do it in the spirit of ecology, which we did not have to persuade our client to do, because we share a common goal, i.e. striving to minimize the carbon footprint in our daily activities. In addition, the new contract with HL Display is another recent extension of cooperation with a long-term customer, which is a source of pride for us. This proves the trust resulting from the strong relationships that we have built over the years - adds Joanna Janiszewska, Regional Director of SEGRO.

SEGRO Business Park Gliwice is a modern warehouse and production park in the Special Economic Zone. Located just a few kilometers from the center of Gliwice, it provides convenient communication thanks to easy access to the national road No. 88, which connects to the A1 and A4 motorways. All facilities in the park have the ecological BREEAM certification, and the care of the park is carried out by a dedicated Property Manager.
