The world's leading streaming entertainment service has agreed a lease for high-quality units for film and TV production. The campus style occupancy will include sound stages, studios, as well as set production and make up and break out areas, creating hundreds of new jobs for the local community.

Anna Mallett, Vice President, Physical Production, EMEA/UK, said:

“The UK is one of Netflix’s most important hubs; its creative brilliance, combined with a highly skilled and versatile workforce creates an ecosystem that makes this country one of the best places to do business.

“We are delighted to announce our new lease at SEGRO Park Enfield, it builds on our commitment to spend over $1bn on productions across the UK this year, invest in the creative community, and support the next generation of talent.”

Cllr Nesil Caliskan, Leader of Enfield Council, said:

“This is exciting news for Enfield and we are delighted to welcome another global brand, Netflix, to the borough. Enfield Council has worked hard to create a business friendly, supportive and welcoming environment for the film and television industry and the borough is now home to the largest concentration of new studios in London.

“This will drive opportunities for local businesses to support the sector’s supply chain and create a wide range of new employment opportunities for local people in support of our Economic Development Strategy, An Economy that Works for Everyone.”

Alan Holland, Managing Director, Greater London at SEGRO, said:

“The creative industries sector is an exciting market for us and this deal with Netflix demonstrates the flexibility and versatility of our high-quality warehouses.

“We look forward to supporting Netflix at SEGRO Park Enfield by providing them with the space to enable extraordinary things to happen. This much-needed UK studio space will help enable them to meet the ever-increasing TV and film viewing demand, as well as creating vital employment in Enfield. We’re also grateful to Enfield Council for working with us to bring this opportunity to fruition.”

SEGRO has had a long-standing relationship with the London Borough of Enfield with a number of industrial developments including Navigation Park, Great Cambridge Industrial Estate, and Imperial Innova Park supporting around 2,000 jobs.

The company has also been investing in the Enfield community for almost a decade. Most recently in 2020, it provided a newly refurbished 14,000 sq. ft. unit at the Great Cambridge Industrial Estate to become London’s first Coronavirus Community Hub, storing food already ordered by Enfield Council, and incorporating a call centre fit for the 40 essential workers. In an adjacent unit temporary rent-free space was provided to The Felix Project, a food redistribution charity collecting surplus food from suppliers and delivering it to good causes across the capital.
