"With this purchase, we are following the strategy of further expanding our presence in growth regions such as southern Germany," says Jim Hartley, Business Unit Director Northern Europe at SEGRO.

"Especially in southern Germany there is an extreme shortage of land for commercial property - we are all the more pleased that we were able to acquire this property in an attractive location," adds Tim Rosenbohm, Director Light Industrial at SEGRO Germany. This is how the SEGRO Park Ingolstadt is being created as part of the InterPark industrial area with a direct connection to the B16a and the A9 motorway.

SEGRO has been present in Ingolstadt since 2015 with the SEGRO Logistics Park Ingolstadt with a fully let 50,000 square meters. Unlike these existing logistics areas, SEGRO is planning the development of modern commercial space for medium-sized companies in the SEGRO Park Ingolstadt that has now been announced. Based on comparable SEGRO properties at other locations, several hundred jobs are likely to be located in the new SEGRO Park Ingolstadt.

For the new business park, SEGRO will develop a total of three buildings and around 200 parking spaces by 2021 on the Nicolaus-Otto-Ring in Großmehring near Ingolstadt. The flexible areas will be available from units of 2,500 square meters. Architecturally, the modern areas will correspond to the successful construction of SEGRO and will consist of hall, office, social and mezzanine areas. The aim is also to certify the building with the sustainability standard DNGB Gold.
