Eelco Ouwerkerk new director of SEGRO Netherlands
Eelco Ouwerkerk started as Head of SEGRO Netherlands on 2 September. He is responsible for the overall operation and further development of SEGRO in the Netherlands. Before this, Eelco was Transition & Innovation manager at HOMIJ Technische Installaties bv.
With the appointment of Ouwerkerk, SEGRO is committed to growth with a focus on new developments. Eelco's strength lies in recognizing opportunities for the market, translating these into concrete real estate developments and thereby using innovative techniques.
Within HOMIJ, Eelco was responsible for the strategic development and implementation of concepts and applications in the field of energy transition, digitization and circularity. He previously worked for Slavenburg's Bouwbedrijven BV and Vailog Nederland BV, a SEGRO Group Company. In these positions, he has mainly gathered a lot of expertise in realizing large real estate projects in the logistics industry, among others. With this he has gained a lot of technical insight and he knows how to translate market wishes into future-proof and functional buildings that have added value for the operational process of the end user.
Ouwerkerk is pleased with this new challenge: “I look forward to further expanding our services together with the SEGRO team, with a focus on sustainability, future-proofing and innovation for the customer. In addition, it is a challenge to further develop our skills in redevelopment locations and to create value in places that may be less obvious.”
Jim Hartley, Head of SEGRO Northern Europe: “The appointment of Eelco emphasizes our focus on new developments in the Netherlands. His extensive experience and expertise in this area will be valuable for the growth of our portfolio. We warmly welcome him to the SEGRO team and look forward to further expanding our work in the Netherlands together.”
