Trunks across the Thames comes to Slough Trading Estate
Trunks across the Thames, a larger-than-life art trail, came to Slough Trading Estate this summer.
Organised by Thames Hospice, the free public exhibition features 30 large elephants and 61 baby elephants, hand-painted by local artists, local school and community groups, across Slough and Windsor. Five of the large elephants and five smaller models are installed on Slough Trading Estate.
SEGRO sponsored one of the elephants, alongside customers Iron Mountain Data Centers - a Headline sponsor for the trail – Equinix and Benjamin Moore and, with a fifth sponsored by a contractor, OCU Group, working on a nearby SEGRO project, helping to raise vital funds for the hospice. In addition to sponsoring an elephant, Benjamin Moore generously donated the paint used by some of the artists to bring the sculptures to life, making a significant contribution to the success of the trail.
Ahead of the public launch, SEGRO also hosted a customer preview brunch at the Thames Hospice elephant storage depot on Ipswich Road, giving guests an exclusive first look at the sculptures before the evening's street parade and official unveiling. The trail will be live until 13 September ahead of the elephants being auctioned in October, with proceeds going to support the ongoing vital work of Thames Hospice.
