XPO Logistics will move into Tufsteen 2 and 3, two warehouses with a total area of almost 19,000 m2. The building is BREEAM Excellent certified, just like the rest of the park. In addition to the quality of the property, the proximity to Schiphol and the immediate availability of the warehouse were the essential criteria for XPO to choose SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport. The optimal infrastructure, with direct connections to the A4/A5 highways, rail and public transport, makes this location a logistical solution.

XPO Logistics is no stranger to SEGRO. The logistics service provider already rents at several locations in the European SEGRO network. The growth of their services in the Netherlands led to the need to expand in the Schiphol area in the short term. Thanks in part to the good cooperation between XPO and SEGRO in other countries, the match at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport in Hoofddorp was quickly established.

SEGRO is currently working on development plans for the second phase of SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport. This second phase will once again create many opportunities for a combination of logistics real estate and urban logistics units.

Bert van der Sterren, Financial Director XPO Logistics:

“In order to further develop and innovate our business, we need the right locations. Based on the existing collaboration, SEGRO was able to advise and facilitate us with a very fast and appropriate solution. SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport offers us what we need at the moment, looking at size, location and flexibility in the use of the building. The commissioning of this new warehouse helps us to continue to facilitate our customers in their developments and capacity issues.”

Eelco Ouwerkerk, Head of SEGRO Netherlands:

“Good news that we can welcome XPO Logistics in the Netherlands. It is very important to us within SEGRO to be able to support them in as many locations as possible with the right accommodation and service. When XPO started looking to expand their facilities around Schiphol, we were able to offer the right solution at short notice. The warehouse at SEGRO Park Amsterdam Airport turned out to be the right answer to their question. We look forward to a great further collaboration, now also in the Netherlands.”

In this process SEGRO was advised by JLL, Bridgegap and Stibbe.
