Material Issues
"Material issues are topics and indicators that reflect the organisation’s significant economic, environmental, and social impacts, or those that would substantively influence the assessments and decisions of stakeholders."
GRI G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, October 2006
SEGRO prioritises its Sustainability Strategy to focus on the Company’s most material sustainability impacts or those issues that could make a major difference to performance.
The assessment of material issues is informed by internal and external stakeholder dialogue. We prioritise material issues according to the level of business risk or opportunity, taking into account their potential effects on SEGRO’s financial performance, reputation, operational performance and competitive position, as well as on customer satisfaction.
Our Sustainability Committee and Board of Directors regularly review the assessment of material issues to ensure that SEGRO continues to manage risk and be well positioned for potential opportunities. Our material issues were last reviewed in 2008. This influenced the development of our Sustainability Strategy, the setting of targets and key performances indicators, and the scope of our sustainability reporting, both internally and externally.
