Energy Costs

In 2010, we purchased £4.4 million of electricity and gas (2009: £3.8 million), of which a large proportion was passed on to occupiers as it related to energy consumption in their buildings.

This increase in reported energy consumption was due to significant improvements in data comprehensiveness and accuracy, combined with the inclusion of the first full year of data for the former Brixton portfolio which was acquired in August 2009. We reduced energy intensity per sq m in the multi-let buildings we manage by 8 per cent.
