We support our employees’ efforts to make a difference in their local communities.

2015 was the first full year of SEGRO’s new approach to how we manage our charitable work and donations. We now operate a Central Charity Committee with four specific sub-committees for the Business Units which agree independently which charities to support. Membership of the Committee is open to all employees and we support as many of our employees’ charitable efforts as we can.

In 2015, we donated the equivalent of £886,741 in the form of direct donations (£212,845), employee fundraising (£53,691) and assistance in kind (£620,205).
In addition, our employees more than doubled the amount of their time they gave to charities, from 44 to 103 days.

Following the terrorist attacks in November in Paris, our employees from the Southern European Business Unit based there decided to sponsor specific charities in the city, including Hopitaux de Paris, Pompiers, pupilles de l’état (firemen orphans). and OEuvre des orphelins de la préfecture de police (police orphans).

What an opportunity to help raise money for such an important charity. During our one night sleep-out, we experienced some of the challenges that homeless people face – the cold, loneliness and vulnerability. It was an event to remember and we were pleased that the money we raised will help provide shelter for the homeless in Slough.

Colette was part of the SEGRO team taking part in the Big Sleep in December 2015. The team raised £20,000 for SHOC, the homeless charity in Slough.

Land Aid

SEGRO is a long-time supporter and partner of LandAid, the charity for the UK property industry. Its aim is to improve the lives of children and young people
who experience disadvantage due to their economic or social circumstances.

In 2015, SEGRO employees raised £92,147 for LandAid.

Andy Gulliford, our Chief Operating Officer, continues to be a member of the LandAid Fundraising Committee and two SEGRO employees are LandAid Ambassadors.
