SEGRO’s success depends on attracting and retaining people who thrive on challenge and responsibility, and developing them to their full potential. As an extension of the Executive Committee, our strong and talented Leadership Team meet regularly to participate in strategic discussions and policy reviews.
During the course of the year, they also contribute to Talent reviews with the Executive Directors to identify development opportunities for our most talented people. In 2015, we welcomed over 65 new employees into the business, which included employees from the acquisition of the Vailog business, one of Italy’s leading logistics real estate development companies, established in 2003. We also recruited new graduates into the business in March and towards the end of the year participated in graduate recruitment fairs at Reading, CASS, Nottingham Trent and Oxford Brookes universities using our new Purpose statement to bring our employment offer to life for potential employees.
Our new graduates from the November recruitment fairs have been offered and accepted roles with us and will join us in early 2016. In 2015, we delivered 2,301 hours of training to employees across the Group as part of each employee’s personal development programme that is agreed between the individual and their line manager.
