The company celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 1970, heralding a decade of massive expansion as it undertook its first developments in France (1972), USA (1973) and Germany (1974), as well as the acquisition, in 1979, of a 15 acre site in Hendon from Cadbury Schweppes – its first move into Greater London.

In 1976, Sir Nigel Mobbs, son of Gerald and grandson of Noel, became Chairman and CEO.
