The Airports Commission has announced that it is backing a third runway at Heathrow. The Commission which is headed up by Sir Howard Davies has agreed that the proposal for the new northwest runway at Heathrow as the best option. The new runway presents the strongest case and will provide over 70,000 jobs by the year 2050 and 40 new destinations.
